Gifted By Grief: A True Story of Cancer, Loss and Rebirth
My husband, Philip, was diagnosed with cancer in October 2010. He died 14 months later. It was an amazing journey for both of us, and continued for me since he died. He had written a blog about what turned out to be his last year (you can see it here) and I’ve now written the story of these last few years which have been quite a journey.
(You can download the first 2 chapters for free here).
Wild Wisdom was born out of this time, and I always knew I’d need to write about this, but it was only in July 2014 that the urge came through in full flow.
The book includes excerpts from Philip’s blog, and also my own journal entries written at the time.
The wonderful Robert Holden wrote the foreword – here we are together outside the Blue Angel cafe in the Findhorn Foundation, just before the launch:

UPDATE!! as at March 2017
Isn’t it amazing how life gives you different from what you might imagine?
After I published Gifted By Grief, so many people commented on Chapter 10 (where I had written about the questions I had asked Philip before he died) that a whole new direction opened up for me.
That direction has recently taken the form of a new social enterprise organisation, Before I Go Solutions, where we help people design and create their own end of life plans with courage, creativity and commitment.
It’s quite something – explore more about it here – and get the latest on what I am up to.
